I moved to Toronto from Austin TX in 2003 and formed Smiling Dog Studio with my partner Valerie Yandell. The Studio offered graphic design and photography services with application to branding design, print and web collateral.

Design Edge Austin TX 1997 – 2003
Director of Graphic Design
I was hired as in-house graphic designer for this leading Product Design company. In this position I created award winning print, web and interactive designs to promote the company’s product design and development services.
Within 2 years the success of my in-house projects encouraged the partners of the company to add Graphic Design as a service offering to outside clients. I was promoted to direct the creation of a new off-site Graphic Design Department. I designed our office space including furniture and hired and directed a team of four designers and one programmer. I worked directly with clients as a graphic designer plus created project briefs, estimates, executed pitches and project presentations.
While at Design Edge clients included, Dell Computers, Motorola, 3M, Valence, TenX Technology, Chuy’s/Comida Deluxe Restaurants, Hotel San Jose, Ignite! Learning, Wetnoz Pet Products.
Go Media Austin TX 1995 – 1997
Graphic Designer
My graphic design career began in Austin TX, 1995. Go Media was one of the first graphic design companies to offer web site design. I worked as a designer and illustrator on a variety of print and web design projects for companies such as; Apple Computers, Wholefoods Market, Texas Department of Parks & Recreation and Del Webb. In 1996 Go Media was acquired by Excite.com and I became part of the Excite design team. I was involved in the development of Excite Seeing Tours (an online search engine community).

LIFE BACKGROUND
As the daughter of an architect I grew up drawing and creating. An appreciation for art and design often guided our family outings. My schooling includes art courses in Italy, B.F.A. in Fine Art and B.A. in Education (Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada) and a B.F.A. in Communication Design (Southwest Texas State University, San Marcos, TX).
As well as being a Graphic designer my professional experiences have included being an Artist, Actor, Curator and Teacher.
I was raised in Toronto, ON Canada and have lived in Kingston, ON Canada and Austin TX. I now live and work in Fairfax, CA.
Personal interests: Buddhist Studies, Sketching, Art making, Photography, Hiking, Kayaking.
